Lewis Mayhem was founded in 2008 by fashion designer/music promoter, Cory Richard Jones. Heavily influenced by the music scene and alternative club scene, she wanted to create a brand that that provided badass clothing for people who embraced the nightlife. The line initially catered to the music, goth and rave scene but in later years it grew into a festival brand with a heavy tribal and occult influence.
Cory spent the bulk of her adult years playing drums in a longterm all female metal band and later a grind core band. At the same time she was working in occult curio shoppe which focused on spell craft, pagan, punk, metal, and every type of counter culture fashion. This interesting mix of influence resulted in the dark tribal occult look of a large potion of the Lewis Mayhem fashion line.
When Cory and Nat Jones initially met, they realized something very cool. Nat had been drawing characters dressed very similar to the designs Cory was creating, even 10 years before they ever crossed paths. Their influences were pretty much dead on with each other—deep hoods, warrior fashion, skulls, occult darkness and beauty. This awesome union is responsible for the new Lewis Mayhem T-shirt line which combines Cory’s vision with Nat’s artwork. Cory always wanted a streetwear portion to her line, something more accessible for everyday life.
In 2018, Cory married American comic book artist, Nat Jones. Nat Jones is an award winning artist and writer renowned for his work in comic books, video games and film. As one of the industry’s top horror and dark fantasy artists, he has worked with many of horrors’ most recognized creators and filmmakers including Rob Zombie, Guillermo del Toro, Steve Niles, Todd Mcfarlane and Joe Hill. Best known for his work on the horror/zombie comic ’68, Frank Frazetta’s Death Dealer, and Spawn, his credits also include the Baldur’s Gate game series, Heavy Metal Magazine, Dark Souls, The Devil’s Rejects, 28 Days Later, Rob Zombie’s The Nail, 30 Days of Night, Broken Moon, The Tripper and Hobo with a Shotgun.
Lewis Mayhem is a fashion line for people who go out, people that move, dance, mosh, stay up late, and perform, whether they are spinning fire, dancing in a pagan circle, or playing a gig, these clothes are made to be worn. Every item is designed to look good when in movement and to be noticed when standing still. Lewis Mayhem captures the beauty in both the darkness and in the unconventional.
